Studio Assistantships

Studio Assistantships

Studio assistants are students who work closely with studio coordinators and instructors to support studio operation during our workshops.

Overview

Studio assistantship covers tuition, housing (a double room with a common bath), and meals. Applicants pay a $5 application fee in Slideroom and a $25 non-refundable processing fee if selected.

Studio assistants work 25–40 hours each week and are required to work from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on the day before their session.

Selected studio assistants are responsible for their travel to and from Penland, along with their share of the studio fee and any materials purchased.

Selection

Studio assistants are selected based on their knowledge of a working studio.
