Artist Bio | Born and raised in Guangzhou, China, Suyu Chen is a contemporary jewelry and craft artist based in Rochester, NY. Suyu received an MFA in Jewelry and Metals from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and a BA from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, China, majoring in Decorative Arts and Design. She also received a Post-Baccalaureate at the Rhode Island School of Design and studied at the University of Arts in Linz, Austria. Suyu has exhibited her works both nationally and internationally. Her unique forms are a result of experimental explorations of alternative materials, often combining plastic and resin with fine metals.
