Amara Hark-Weber has been making footwear out of her St Paul, MN workshop since 2013. While she will always be learning, her instructors include DW Frommer, Janne Melkersson, and Marcell Mrsan. She has previous education from Bard College, the London School of Economics, and School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She teaches individuals out of her workshop, and courses at select craft schools, including Penland. She has received awards from the American Craft Council, Minnesota State Arts Board, Twin Cities Regional Arts Council, and the Jerome Foundation, and her footwear is worn by clients across the United States and internationally. Amara is the recipient of the 2017 Rare Craft Fellowship from the American Craft Council in association with The Balvenie. She truly loves the art and craft of handmade footwear.
