Artist Statement | Sarah Rachel Brown is a contemporary jeweler, facilitator, and podcaster located in Philadelphia where she is a member of the JV Collective, a collaborative contemporary jewelry studio. Beyond her studio practice, Sarah contributes to the contemporary jewelry field through her podcast Perceived Value, and is the host/producer for American Craft’s podcast “Object As…”project.

Sarah has been the metals coordinator for the Pentaculum Residency at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, the Art Jewelry Forum’s US Ambassador, an artist-in-residence at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, a Core Fellow at the Penland School of Crafts, and received her education through a 3-year apprenticeship with Seattle based jeweler, Sarah Loertscher. She has exhibited nationally and was selected as an Emerging Artist for the 2017 Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft show.
