Artist Statement | Michal began making jewelry after falling in love with nylon mesh, a supple, dramatic and incredibly lightweight material that was once used as a purely structural element in hats and clothing. In my latest work, I use manipulated photographs to explore ways of seeing, and to play on the idea of material. The original material, nylon mesh, a 3-dimensional material which has formed the basis of my work for many years, gets abstracted through the camera lens, and further abstracted through computer manipulations and collage.
Technical Information | Nylon mesh, resin
