Description

Equipped with an eagerness to merge steel fabrication and glass blowing processes, Campbell, a metal worker, and Fruin, a glassblower, first explored collaborative work briefly during the 2018 winter residency program at Penland School of Craft. After years of discussion, experimentation, and refinement, Campbell and Fruin began creating functional glassware. Each piece is hand blown by Fruin from a steel mold fabricated by Campbell, relying on the age old industrial processes of the American steel and glass industries. Steeped in the aesthetics of the industrial steel world and coupled with the elegance of hand blown glass, Campbell and Fruin offer users a product deeply rooted in the history of functional craft and refined design.
