Handcrafted objects can serve as tangible representations of the connections between our bodies, our labor, and our environment. Harnessing that connection can empower us to build intentional communities, independent of established systems. I believe the comfort of tradition and the pleasure of subversion must coexist in the pursuit of pragmatic utopia, and it is radical craftspeople who are best able to mediate that dichotomy. By queering traditional craft forms such as furniture and pottery, I aim to build the world in which I want to live, one which is non-authoritarian, decentralized, degendered, and, most importantly, full of joy and tenderness.
