Community Open House
Each
year, Penland's community open house
welcomes hundreds of visitors into the studios for demonstrations
and hands-on activities.
The 2013 community open house will take place on Saturday, March 2, from 1-5 pm.

Penland's summer art camps offer creative and engaging one-week workshops for children ages 3 to 18, taught by local artists in the Ridgeway building across from the Penland Gallery. Half-day camps are $100 and full-day camps are $200 with scholarships available. Questions? Email

Fire on the Mountain Blacksmith Festival
Saturday April 27th, 2013, 10pm – 4pm
Locust Street, Downtown Spruce Pine, NC
Spruce Pine Main Street and Penland School of Crafts present the annual Fire On the Mountain festival, to celebrate blacksmithing's deep roots in Western North Carolina, and broaden awareness of quality contemporary iron work. Experience a day of forging techniques and ferrous materials!
