Past Exhibition: Studio Practice
Studio artists: their work, their working environments, and their sources of inspiration
May 22 – July 8, 2012
Studio practice is the way in which an individual artist works in his or her studio and includes, first and foremost, but is not limited to, the actual making of artworks. Studio practice includes the development of the work itself from conception to realization as well as one’s craft (practicing a new technique, for example). Finally, it also includes idea generation and vetting and all the research, writing, drawing, thinking, experimenting, and exploring that goes into the creation of one’s artwork.
