Fran Allen Memorial Scholarship Award Funded annually by friends and family of Fran Allen, this award provides one full scholarship in painting & drawing for a woman seeking a career or life transition Patricia M. "Patty" Babb Scholarship Award Funded annually by Mary Lou and Jim Babb, this award provides one full scholarship. Dr. Jerrold Belitz Scholarship Fund Established through a bequest from Jerrold Belitz, who appreciated craft and Penland, this endowment fund provides two full scholarships. Elizabeth Brim Scholarship Award Funded annually by Kent Leslie in honor of Elizabeth Brim, this award provides one full scholarship for a woman forty years of age or older seeking a transformative creative experience. Steve and Janet Cathey Scholarship Award Funded annually by Drs. Steve and Janet Cathey, this award provides one full scholarship for an artist living in Arkansas. The Orville and Pat Chatt Memorial Scholarship - NEW SCHOLARSHIP Funded annually by Mary Schnelly and Gene Phelps, this award funds a full two week summer session for a student living in the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho) who shows artistic promise and financial need. Bob and Peggy Culbertson Scholarship Award Funded annually by Penland student and former trustee Bob Culbertson and his wife Peggy Culbertson, this award provides one full scholarship. Paul Hayden and Ginger Duensing Scholarship Fund Established by friends and family in memory of Paul Hayden Duensing, this endowment fund provides one full scholarship in letterpress. Huntley-Tidwell Scholarship Fund Established by Hellena Huntley-Tidwell and Isaiah Tidwell, this endowment fund provides one full scholarship for a student of color living in the United States. Bobby Kadis Scholarship Fund Established by the family of former trustee and longtime student Bobby Kadis, this endowment fund provides one full scholarship for a student in clay. Mendes Family Scholarship Fund Established by Jenny Mendes in gratitude for her time spent as a core student and resident artist at Penland School, this endowment fund provides one full scholarship for a student 50 years of age or older seeking a personal or professional creative renewal. John Neff Memorial Scholarship Fund Established by friends in memory of John Neff, a gifted artist who was a Penland core student, this endowment fund provides one full scholarship. Mark Peiser Scholarship Fund Established by Jim and Judy Moore to honor Mark Peiser, Penland's first resident artist in glass, for his technological innovations and aesthetic contributions to the studio glass movement, this endowment fund provides one full scholarship for a student in glass.
