2010 T-Shirt Contest

The Penland School supply store is now accepting submissions for a 2010 Penland School of Crafts T-shirt. Your beautiful, crazy, magnificent, head-turning, realistic, surreal, hilarious, in-joke, out-joke, craft-related, unrelated, sublime, or simply great drawing/sketch/print/design could be next year's special Penland T-shirt. Be inspired by the landscape, your experience here, Jackson Pollock, or your own deep well of original thinking. Would we put Michael Cera or a monster truck on a Penland T-shirt? Maybe. Anything pornographic, obviously offensive, or insulting will be passed over -- otherwise, we'll consider anything.

The winner will get a free T-shirt (now that's a prize worth working for).

Make your design on an 8-1/2 x 11 inch piece of paper. Horizontal or vertical is fine. Designs should be one or two colors. Don't use photographs unless they have been rendered in very high contrast (this is silk-screen, remember). We're looking for graphics only -- we'll add the text: Penland School of Crafts 2010.

Send your designs to Sallie Fero, Penland School of Crafts, PO Box 37, Penland, NC, 28765. Write your name, address, phone number, and T-shirt size somewhere on the back of your submission. Electronic submissions can be sent as high-resolution JPG files to

store@penland.org

The deadline for submission is February 28, 2010. The winning T-shirt will be for sale in the school store in the spring.

This is the winning T-shirt design for 2009.
